SERGE FITNESS, EST. 2019
I was always an active kid, played sports all through junior high and high school. Three sport letterman in football, powerlifting and track. Unfortunately just like most, I got away from exercise after graduating. I went about 5 years going from job to job, going through the motions just to get a paycheck. I gained quite a bit of unhealthy weight and was disgusted with myself but didn’t do anything about it.
In 2013 however, I was in a terrible motorcycle accident. I suffered a broken fibula, level 4 PCL tear and banged up my wrist and back pretty bad. After undergoing Physical Therapy, which simply consisted of a tens unit for 2 months basically, I finally healed enough to walk without crutches again. The doctors said I needed knee surgery to get my knee back to normal but I was only 22 at the time and the thought of knee surgery terrified me, so I took matters into my own hands and began exercising.
I took the bit of knowledge from high school sports along with extensive research and within two months I was jogging, training 7 days a week and little to no pain from the accident. I began working out simply to get back to “normal” but within 6 months of working out I was offered a personal training job at Anytime Fitness and never looked back. I have now been a NASM certified personal trainer for 5 years and have worked with clients between the ages of 15-83.
I competed in my first show in 2016, The Texas Shredder, and placed first in novice and open. A few months later placed 2nd in open at the Branch Warren Classic. I’m currently getting ready to compete in the Adela Garcia Classic in Austin, Tx on June 15. So stay tuned, the best is yet to come. LET’S GET IT!
